John Pedersen: Allmenningselva (the Allmenning river) is a small river around 25 km outside Bodø in northern Norway. Where the river runs into Vatnvatnet there is a beautiful place with good swimming-opportunities both in the river and the lake. The water can on good-weather-periods get up to or even over 20 degrees between the middle of june and the end of august.
There are smooth rocks here which are nice to sit or lay on. There are also some fire-places and you can tent/camp here.
Not to many people know about this place, most go to a place called Heggmokulpen not to far away. So there is a good possibility you'll be alone here. The whole Heggmoen-area is filled with lakes with good swimmingopportunities.
Why not take some friends? We can help you organise a swim and make it easy for
swimmers to join you. You can easily publish your swim as an event on Facebook too.
