Karen: Deep water, beach swim. Marker buoys out during summer months to restrict speed of any boats. Large car park, or park on road for 2 hours free. Unspoilt pebble beach.
Tides, rough water, fishing boats and fishermen
Pam Hine: Wear beach shoes and the pebbles are not a problem. Clothes are optional (legally) 500m east of Steamer Steps, where there is a cafe open from April-Oct. If the Jolly Roger is flying by the fishing boats, there is fresh fish for sale - and the fish are often still flapping about! You can't get fresher than that.
Wear shoes for comfort.
Lesley Chapman: Lovely place to swim.
Parking on the road is no longer free - they charge 2 hours a day. There is a small car park in town where parking is free after 6pm.
