The beach at Ainsworth is within about a mile of the railway station but also has a car park, there are lifeguards and the water meets the bathing quality standards. Expect to do some wading at low tide, as the water is rather shallow for some distance out.
Andy Davis: A nice beach, but sadly marred by a long walk from the car park (even further if you use public transport). Make sure you check the tides and try and aim for at least a 7 metre high tide for a good swim.
