Clive Goadby: Lazy country river float, I swam in early summer as floods were receding. Mostly below the banks this feels isolated and primeval, with Kingfishers flitting about and masses of greenery.
The occasional swirl for interest and glimpses of church spires across the fields.

Rob Chaplin: It's probably best to swim this part of the Cherwell upstream of the confluence of the river Ray after it has rained as it can be rather shallow. Watch out for the wire just north of the main road bridge at Gosford hill though
