Katie Watson: Park in a cul de sac of East Street and walk down Timpsons Row through gate to playing fields. Walk straight across the playing fields and slightly to your left you will see stone steps into the river. Really easy access and not very weedy.
Mark Walshe: A step terrace runs into a wide meander of the river which has a gravel base, making entry to the river very easy - For a decent swim you need go down stream from this point and enjoy the scenic views on the river banks. The current is light so swimming back up stream to exit is no problem for a competent swimmer.
Jayne Meyrick: We got in the river just after the weir at Emberton and swim downstream for 2km, getting out at the steps by the rugby club.
The river is a bit shallow in parts but we had a lovely swim.
