Bac Lava: The most glorious of nude beaches and often at least as busy as the 'textile' beaches either side. At the same time, some choose to sit among the bare bodies in their swimmers and no-one seems to care.
After a long swim in the warm shallow bay, try queuing naked for an ice cream (mind where the drips go) from the conspicuously clothed seller in the National Trust trailer. A great family beach with lifeguards and patrols, probably better served than many town beaches. OSS member Andrew Heather suggests parking at Sandbanks and taking the chain-link ferry across the entrance to Poole Harbour, before walking the mile or so down to the naturist beach. Facilities and a cafe to the west of the beach in Studland, where there is also a National Trust car park for easier access to the beach, and sailing dinghies can be hired.
