Bac Lava: My favourite sea swim. Off of Two Tree Island (Hadleigh Ray), you enter the water via the slipway then swim either East or West (Dependant on conditions, West sheltered in choppier water) parallel to the shore.
It is best done on a raising tide (1/2 hour before high tide). West is between 4-6ft deep and East 5-8ft. I like it because you get great views of The 'Ray and surrounding area. It is also a challenging swim against an oncoming tide. If you do Triathlons it's also a good venue to practice your swim exits. Probably best done between May and September and a wetsuit with bright coloured swim cap essential so you are visable to boats. Always swim in a pair or group. There is a large car park but no toliets, cafe or other facilities so come prepared.
