Wide beach, stoney but easy underfoot and easy access into the water. Park other side of the road in the NT Pay & Display car park. Swim to island and back is about a mile. Beautiful scenery! If swimming out into the lake look back early and note your sighting marks for a safe return. Water temperature in August was about 14C I think,

This is a crowd-sourced map. Abilities vary, and conditions change. Always assess risks for yourself before getting in.

Watch out for larger rocks underfoot. Main hazard is the passenger ferries circling the lake, they sneak up on you quickly! Wear bright hats, stick together, usual advice for open water!
