Description by Outdoor Swimming Society on behalf of Outdoor Swimming Society

Roger Deakin swam at the men’s pond, but this spot became central to Joe Minihane’s retracing of the Deakin’s swims for his book , Floating: A Life Regained.

Description by Jason Schreiber who added this swim

The three swimming ponds on Highgate are generally for pleasure swimming in costumes only, but triathletes can now attend in wetsuits for specific sessions. All have changing room, showers and toilets. 2. There is a women's, men's pond and a mixed pond. The women's pond is run by the Kenwood Ladies Pond Association.

The women's pond has plenty of room to soak up the sun after your dip, the men's has a screened sunbathing area where nude tanning is allowed. The Mixed pond allows you to go with friends and children of the opposite sex.
