Description by Outdoor Swimming Society on behalf of Outdoor Swimming Society

One of the final swims in Roger Deakin’s Waterlog and a regular spot for Joe Minihane on his retracing of that cult classic for his own book, Floating: A Life Regained.

Description by Wildswim who added this swim

Right in the centre of Covent Garden and overlooked by flats and an 11-storey office block, this chlorinated, heated pool offers an unusual swim in the heart of London. It is open all year and probably most surprising during winter when the steam rises in puffs, and three powerful underwater lights illuminate the water. 27m x 10m. The complex includes an indoor pool.

This really is an oasis in the bustling heart of London and such an unexpected delight when you emerge from what looks like an office block and discover the outdoor pool. On work trips to London, this is the perfect stress-busting antidote. Particularly lovely when swimming under the dark night sky or in the gentle patter of rain
