A sandy spit with huge luxurious beach huts, a nature reserve on one side and views out to the Isle of Wight on the other. Strong current in the narrow channel of water that separates the spit from Mudeford itself, but there are sandy bays separated by groins which provide sheltered swimming. Beautiful views. Park at the Hengistbury Head carpark and walk out over the cliffs and down or take the ferry over from Mudeford.
