Description by Kate Rew on behalf of Outdoor Swimming Society

The rope swing and tree jump on an island next to Outney common is impressive – watch as locals climb up the enormous tree and jump into this very deep pool in the River Waveney. Or just have a long leisurely swim in the deep, clear and beautiful river that runs through the meadows. You might have jump out of the water to save your clothes from some curious cows, but that just adds to the fun.

Description by Cath Saunt who added this swim

Park up at the Outney Meadow caravan park near Bungay - they may charge you a couple of quid ad you get a shower thrown in afterwards - or at the golf club to the left and wander down to the river either end of the loop. A lovely swim in pastoral scenery - the cows gaze curiously as you glide by.

If you want to get here by public transport the 588 Anglian Bus from Norwich runs quite frequently and will drop you just five minutes walk from the River Waweney.
