The only lake in the Lake District. Whet an appetite for refreshment with a swim and then pop into the Lakes Distillery. Their aerial film of the River Derwent from source to sea will provide inspiration for the next day's swims

Easy access from Peil Wyke and Dubwath. Lovely place for an early morning swim when you can watch the sun rise from behind Skiddaw. Watch out for the 'whoosh' if you swim towards the north end of the lake where the River Derwent starts its journey towards Cockermouth
