Fausto Bathers are swimming at Roker in Sunderland SR6 on NYD at 12noon. All welcome

Description by Marie Donnelly who added this swim

Swimming is great between the piers, protected from the worst excesses of the North East winds and weather - apart from when strong winds are blowing directly onto shore, when the semi-confined space can make the water more choppy. Good but not great water quality, family and dog friendly, multiple cafe's, restaurants and an activity centre - Adventure Sunderland - on the sea front, with the Marine Activities Centre just around the corner in the dock. Great for a dip, a paddle, and a good long swim if you're feeling able and willing. There is. at the right tide time, a tiny mini-beach from which you can swim at the Yacht Club end of the beach. RNLI are based on this section of the beach.
