A delightful river pool, fed by a waterfall just north of Merthyr Tydfil and accessible from the Taff Trail. This is a swimming spot that was popular a generation ago but has fallen out of fashion - so access is a little more of a scramble through undergrowth than it might be. Above the Pool you can swim through a channel against the flow and find other smaller pools. It's very quiet and private once you're down there, but should you not be able to find it there's bound to be a middle aged dog walker about to guide you and tell you stories of how he swam there as a boy.
